VOLUNTEER

Be a part of the action! The North Country Studio Workshop Planning Committee is solely responsible for planning and executing each workshop session. The committee is made up of studio artists, art collectors and professional business people. It is a two-year process from beginning to end. We work as a team and begin the act of choosing the faculty for the next session as soon as the workshops are over. Potential faculty are presented by medium, reviewed by the entire committee and ranked one to three (they are all tops so this is a challenge!). The faculty are then contacted directly and we are thrilled when they accept.

The next task is reviewing what worked and what may not have worked during the last session, and refining  our processes. Each committee member is assigned the role of liaison with a specific faculty member. Detailed information is requested so that we can create the application brochure and update the website. It is only slightly more than a year after the last workshops that registration for the next session begins.

Last steps include equipping each studio and doing whatever is necessary to ensure that each participant and faculty member has what it takes to allow for a positive peer-to-peer experience. Yes, it is a lot of work, but we have the pleasure of shaping the program, getting to know the faculty first-hand, spending five days making art, and celebrating together at Bennington for a job well done.

If you are willing to travel once a month to the Concord (NH) area, and have come to one of our programs, we'd loved to have your input on this committee.
